Costa del Sol · Spain
Sun, sea and Spanish soul on the shores of the Mediterranean.
Torremolinos is a vibrant coastal city situated on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, just 14 kilometres west of Málaga in the province of Andalusia. Once a quiet fishing village, it transformed into one of Europe's most popular holiday resorts during the 1960s tourism boom — and never looked back.
The town is flanked by two beautiful beach areas: the long, lively stretch of La Carihuela to the west and the central Playamar to the east. Between the two, the lively Calle San Miguel pedestrian street winds its way through the old town, lined with boutiques, tapas bars, ice cream parlours and pavement cafés.
Beyond the beaches, Torremolinos offers a surprising depth of culture. The Molino de Inca botanical gardens, the historic sugar-cane watermills that give the city its name, and the nearby Tivoli World amusement park all add colour to your stay. The city also enjoys easy access by train and bus to Málaga, Marbella and Gibraltar.
